U.S. House, U.S. Senate, Governor, statewide offices
What’s being decided
The general election determines who holds each office. All registered voters may participate. Winning candidates take office in January 2027.
Candidates
U.S. Senate
Democratic · Incumbent since 2009
Jeff Merkley has represented Oregon in the U.S. Senate since 2009. He is the only senator who served as a state House Speaker before being elected to the Senate. A progressive voice in the Democratic caucus, he has been a consistent advocate for workers' rights, climate action, and campaign finance reform.
Governor
Democratic · Incumbent since 2023
Tina Kotek has served as Governor of Oregon since January 2023 after winning the 2022 election in a three-way race. Before becoming governor, she served as Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2013 to 2023, one of the longest-serving state house speakers in the country. She is a strong progressive and the first openly LGBTQ governor in Oregon history. She is running for re-election in what is a rematch of the 2022 race against Republican Christine Drazan in a two-way contest.
Republican
Christine Drazan is a state senator and the 2026 Republican nominee for Oregon governor. She narrowly lost the 2022 governor's race to Tina Kotek in a three-way contest where independent Betsy Johnson drew 8.6 percent of the vote. In 2026, with Johnson not running, the race is a direct Kotek-Drazan rematch. She previously served as House Minority Leader in the Oregon House, making her the first Republican woman to hold that role in Oregon. She is from Canby in the Willamette Valley.
