Tommy Tuberville has represented Alabama in the U.S. Senate since 2021. Before entering politics he was a college football coach for 40 years, including 10 seasons as head coach at Auburn University. He made national headlines for holding up hundreds of military promotions for nearly 10 months in 2023 and 2024 over his opposition to a Department of Defense policy reimbursing service members for travel to obtain abortions.
