Lisa Murkowski has represented Alaska in the U.S. Senate since 2002, when she was appointed by her father, then-Governor Frank Murkowski. She won a historic write-in campaign to retain her seat in 2010 after losing the Republican primary. One of the most moderate members of the Senate Republican caucus, she was one of seven Republican senators who voted to convict former President Trump in his second impeachment trial.
